APPLICATION FEES TO RISE BY UP TO 35% ON 6TH DECEMBER 2023

The government has confirmed that planning application fees will increase on 6th December 2023.ย

Ministers are keen to improve the performance and delivery of local planning authorities in their planning functions, but have controversially decided not to ring-fence any increased revenues for use by local planning departments.ย

The proposed uplift in fees is proposed to be in the region of 35% for major applications and 25% for all other applications with annual increases thereafter in line with inflation (RPIX every April from 2025). ย ย

Applications for householders would increase by ยฃ52 from ยฃ206 to ยฃ258 as an example.ย  ย ย
